Hello and welcome!
My name is Denny and let me welcome you to Hole in the Wall Travels! Allow me to introduce you to our concept first and then I’ll share a bit about us too.
As the idea of building this site began picking up steam, the first thing we started thinking about was what do we want to talk about. As more and more conversation took place, the thought process shifted to what were the things we enjoyed the most? We started discussing things like the niche restaurants, the “free” things (thinking of big families here) that you find along the way like state parks, hiking, etc. We also thought about some of the different, proverbial, “corners we have been able to cut” along the way in our traveling that may potentially be useful for others. So we had our content, but why “Hole in the Wall”?
Great question! Growing up when talking about that little out-of-the-way place that may have caught us by surprise from food, to places to stay, to other references, “hole in the wall” was just a phrase that dotted throughout growing up. With that, Hole In the Wall Travel was born.
So what about your author?
I have been traveling and enjoying visiting sites around the globe for most of my life. I have had the privilege of traveling through over 30 states, three foreign countries and seeing what they all have to offer. Another passion since I have been a kid is writing. Short stories to a novel, storytelling has been something I have always had an interest in and continue to work toward, finishing some of those novel ideas as well.
When the conversation started above, marrying passions of travel and writing was one of the bigger “no-brainers” that have happened in a long time. So with this site, and these posts a combination of passions was born. Like with anything and all of us though, nothing is perfect. We’ll be constantly tweaking, editing, adding and growing Hole In the Wall Travels to meet interests, needs, and match the travels that we have had (sharing a bit of some of the things we have enjoyed) to finding new things that we can share and some of the different unique things we see around the US, or, the globe!
So welcome, we’ll share what we know and learn, and hopefully, you will engage with us and share some of the things that you have enjoyed, learned too.
